We took Isaac to his first doctor's appointment. He was very alert and our doctor was impressed!
We were excited to have Brett's parents come and stay with us for a week! Here are special pictures taken right when they arrived and first held Isaac.

During their visit, we ate some amazing food. It was nice to have such wonderful homemade meals during the second week when we were still just trying to adjust and enjoy our baby's arrival. One night we introduced them to an easy and super yummy red curry recipe. It was a big hit!
Our nickname for Isaac has been "little turtle" for several reasons, and one is that from the time he was born, he loves to stretch out his neck like a turtle coming out of the shell. David and Des didn't know about this, but they picked out a cute turtle as a gift for Isaac. The following two pictures were inspired by (or really our comical attempt to reproduce) photos that we have seen where pictures are taken over the months beside the same object... so that you can see the growth. We decided to use the turtle as our object. So at one week old, we put Isaac beside it and he immediately decided to try to eat the turtle. (or nurse) We had a big laugh of this!
This one is a little better. He really was not feeling the photo shoot. This was the last picture before the screams came. Ha Ha
Reading bedtime stories one night. He really loves this and we can tell because he relaxes as he hears a calm voice reading to him.
On Father's Day we took our first walk as a whole family. Cali and Isaac both did great!
What a huge treat! Our friends Candice and Daniel of The Beautiful Mess Photography blessed us with a newborn photo session. This was a fun experience! Quick family portrait. We are so thrilled to have Isaac as our son! It's already hard to imagine life before his arrival!
We have enjoyed regular visits with Jes' parents! They adore Isaac and are so good with him! I don't know what we would do without such wonderful family support. We are so blessed and thankful for the help!

So relaxing in the evenings looks a little different now. Yes, all three of us are in this picture. Isaac loves the moby wrap. He's wrapped up in my arms sleeping.
We truly loved our time with Brett's parents! It was really hard to see them leave.
We are already looking forward to our next time together!
