A Crisp Christmas

Here are some pictures from our Christmas celebrations this year!

The two newest babies in the family.  Elise (3 months) and Isaac (6 months).

Here are a few pics from our get-together with my (Jes') grandparents.  We started out by singing Christmas Carols and hearing the Christmas Story.

My grandfather has a gift for playing the guitar!

Finley is so cute!  He's 2 1/2 years old and so smart for his age.  Just looking at him and hearing him talk, you would think he's at least a year older.  He really enjoyed it when we sang Jingle Bells!

Our family pic.  It had been a rough few days for our family.  Isaac had RSV and we were quite concerned about him.  Also, Brett and I were both sick.  I'm thankful that we were able to still join in on the Christmas celebrations, even if we weren't 100%.

Isaac enjoyed rolling around and playing with toys during all of the celebrations.  He didn't really care about the fun going on around him... but next year he will be tearing into presents!

All of the great grandkids got lots of fun gifts!

One of the great things about kids is that they play hard and then they fall hard.  So Isaac slept through most of the present opening.  We are glad that the loud noises and laughter don't stand in the way of a good nap!

On Christmas Eve, my parents had us over for a nice dinner and for our favorite Christmas tradition... reading Twas the Night Before Christmas with all of the grandkids.  Last year, Finley was the lone ranger, but this year he was in good company.  All of the grandkids had super cute Christmas pajamas, thanks to their grandparents!

We had to celebrate Christmas with Brett's family across the miles.  On Christmas Eve, we Skyped with Brett's parents so that Isaac could open his gift from his Nana and Pop-Pop.  I just love Skype!  This was a special way for all of us to celebrate and experience Isaac's first Christmas.

One of his gifts was a cute bug jug.  It was a little green container with lots of colorful bugs that squeak, rattle and jingle.  He loves playing with them!

Boys need to stick together! (Christmas morning)

While we were eating Christmas brunch at my parent's house, Isaac played and jumped in exersaucer. It was our little Christmas miracle.  When we all woke up on Christmas morning, we were all doing better than we had in the week prior!  So thankful for this wonderful time with family!

Our new niece Elise is so precious!  We didn't want her to catch our germs, so we didn't get to hold her, but I can't wait to snuggle over the summer!

Opening gifts...

My grandparents came over to share in the fun too!

It's the year of the dragon... a lucky year to have a baby! Thanks Amanda and Nate!

Reading a new book from Grandmommy and Granddaddy.

We will call this Isaac's Christmas bath.  He has the cutest curly hair!

We like to let it do its own thing!  Wow!

He started sitting up the day after Christmas!  We are so proud of him!

A couple of days later... already sitting taller and stronger than ever before!

This is another one of his favorite Christmas gifts.  The stacking rings from my parents continue to be a huge hit. Probably because two teeth made their debut right after Christmas!

On Dec. 30th it was Brett's birthday.  To celebrate, my parents kept Isaac so that we could go out to Bonefish for a nice date.  We had a great time!  Brett is an amazing man, a wonderful husband, and a fantastic father.  I'm so proud of him and all that he does!  Happy birthday Brett!
