My lovely wife has been doing most of the blogging for us over the past while, so I thought it was about time that I take a few minutes to share a little.
We have had a great few days, despite both of us being really tired. On Saturday night, we went to Greensboro to explore a unique shopping area that neither of us had been to and had read about online. Unfortunately, most of the shops were closed on Saturday afternoon. It was fun nonetheless. On Sat. evening, we ate dinner at Solaris, a tapas restaurant downtown. It was a really enjoyable experience. Good food and a great atmosphere. We had 3 courses: Shrimp dim-sum, fresh mozerella pizza, and bacon-wrapped dates.
On Sunday we enjoyed our Sunday School class and Worship service at Westover. We have decided to continue to attend Westover, even though it is about 30-4o minutes away from our house. We had tried a few Churches closer to home, but we really feel direction to remain at Westover. We're really excited about this, because we have loved it there and truly feel at home. It was neat this Sunday because the Pastor came to our Sunday School class and then we got to meet and share some conversation with the Worship leader after the service. Westover has about 2500 people in attendance on Sunday mornings, so it was really cool to be able to interact with some of the leaders. It made the Church feel smaller, which I think is really important when you attend such a large Church.
On Tuesday night, the facilitators of our Sunday School Class drove down to Randleman to go out to eat with us. It was a really nice time to get to know each other better and to have good conversation. We really admire and respect them as our leaders and really enjoyed their company. They had previously asked us to be "table leaders" for our class, and so we discussed this some and decided to make that commitment for the fall. We are looking forward to this new responsibility and level of involvement. I'm sure as we move into this role next month that we'll have more to share.
